The Jacqueline Vito LoRusso Alumni and Visitor Center will serve as the gateway to the campus for visitors, returning alumni, and prospective students and their families. It will demonstrate our strong commitment to provide a welcoming home that recognizes and embraces the diversity within our alumni community and delivers quality programming, mentoring, and engagement opportunities for alumni and students.
Its purpose is to establish and sustain a home for alumni of Buffalo State that celebrates campus life and the rich history of our institution, and engages alumni, prospective and existing students, parents, faculty, and staff. Programs and functions that allow enhanced alumni/student connections and draw upon strengths and resources of the campus community and our more than 100,000 alumni will provide a platform on which we will build upon our rich history to create new opportunities for the entire Buffalo State community.
The project site is located on the corner of Grant Street and Rockwell Road, across from the Student Apartment Complex. This new building will solidify our Grant Street entrance as a second main gateway to the campus and help to enliven this area of Buffalo State. The new building will include spaces for public reception and gathering. There will be a large multi-purpose room and two smaller conference rooms, along with various support spaces. The Alumni Affairs Office will be located in this building. Campus tours will begin here, and programming here will engage alumni as well as current and prospective students.
