The Caudell Hall project will rehabilitate spaces for departments in the School of the Professions at Buffalo State: Hospitality and Tourism, Health, Nutrition and Dietetics, Social Work, and Speech-Language Pathology.
The entire three-story section of Caudell Hall will be gutted and renovated. The building will soon feel part of the campus plaza, since its new entrance will be directly at plaza level.
The first floor will have an expanded lobby, classrooms, and conference room; and state-of-the-art food laboratories for the Hospitality and Tourism Department, including one with a demonstration area opening into the main lobby. The building's main corridor will be moved to the outside wall, allowing natural light to stream into public areas and the food labs.
On the second floor, the Health, Nutrition and Dietetics Department will have a food lab as well, along with computer labs, classrooms, and space for the Nutrition Education Counseling Center. The third floor will house departmental and faculty offices.
In addition, the building's exterior will be re-clad with aluminum storefront and terra cotta panels, and the temporary Caudell Annex will be removed.
Buffalo State anticipates LEED Silver certification for this environmentally responsible renovation.
