Buffalo State's facilities are a critical asset. Their physical features, quality, location, and environment directly affect our ability to teach, learn, work, and socialize on campus.
Buffalo State will manage its space with care in order to fully realize its potential, obtain full value from its facilities and advance it strategic goals
All facilities are the property of the University. The President (or designee) is responsible for analyzing and determining appropriate space assignments and planning future space projects within a larger vision for the development of Buffalo State. The President has overall responsibility for the equitable and optimum use of space resources and has final decision authority for the planning, allocation, assignment and reassignment of all spaces. The President may choose to delegate that authority to other institutional officers as she deems appropriate.
University space may be reassigned
It is inevitable that campus space assignments will change from time to time. Changes in the allocation of space will not be made without consultation with the affected parties, but the Buffalo State administration reserves the final authority for decisions about space resources.
University space must be evaluated using applicable standards
Physical space on this campus is a valuable part of our learning environment. Every space on our campus is included in our Physical Space Inventory (PSI) and reported to SUNY on an annual basis. All spaces must be managed and coded according to SUNY standards.
